ROME, NY (04/17/25) – Nascentia Health and the Nascentia Neighborhood Capital Campaign Strategy Committee are thrilled to announce the public phase of the Nascentia Neighborhood Capital Campaign and recognize The Griffin Charitable Foundation’s generous $4 million dollar gift for the project.
On Wednesday, April 16 at the Beeches Manor in Rome, Kate Rolf, President and CEO of Nascentia Health, members of the capital campaign’s strategy committee, elected leaders, and other community stakeholders celebrated The Griffin Charitable Foundation’s commitment to helping to make Nascentia Neighborhood a reality and enhancing the quality of life in the City of Rome and Oneida County.
In recognition of the foundation’s transformative gift, Nascentia Health is proud to share that Nascentia Neighborhood’s future on-site medical building will be named The Griffin Charitable Foundation Medical Complex. This is a lasting tribute to Dorothy and Bill Griffin, whose selfless giving continues to shape the Copper City and beyond.

“We are incredibly grateful to The Griffin Charitable Foundation for choosing to invest in this project,” said Kate Rolf, President and CEO of Nascentia Health. “This gift will help our company continue delivering exceptional healthcare, creating strong communities, and executing a vision designed to meet the needs of aging adults. I am honored that the Nascentia Neighborhood Capital Campaign has already been propelled forward by a transformative donation.”
Building on Nascentia Health’s 135-year history of delivering high-quality home-based care, the Nascentia Neighborhood initiative aims to address the rapidly changing and often unmet needs of adults aged 55 and older.
By repurposing The Beeches property in Rome, a historic community landmark, the project will create a 72-acre inclusive, “aging-in-place” community where residents can remain active, engaged, and connected to the greater Central New York region.
In addition to The Griffin Charitable Foundation Medical Complex, Nascentia Neighborhood will offer a privately owned, gated residence, affordable housing options for moderate to low-income seniors, and amenities such as a gym, computer room, and walking trails.
Phase one of the project is already complete, with the successful renovation and reopening of Beeches Manor as an event venue and restaurant/pub open to the community for lunch and dinner.
