The Griffin Charitable Foundation funded a mobile unit for Clear Path for Veterans that is outfitted to be a full-service “office on wheels” for veterans and military families. It offers reception and interview space where support and assistance can be provided. This includes mental health screenings and referrals to the VA and other local providers (including suicide prevention and substance use services). Immediate needs help such as food, clothing and personal care items will also be provided with the vehicle. It is a way to reach veterans living in remote areas and areas not currently served by Clear Path. Veterans in Rome and the surrounding community with limited mobility, transportation issues, or disabilities may find this mobile unit particularly helpful. The mobile unit will essentially bring services to our veteran’s doorstep.
